This short video will introduce you to taking a test or quiz in Blackboard.
Before Taking an Exam or Quiz
Your Browser
- See the Web Browser Compatibility Article to make sure you are using a compatible browser.
- Troubleshoot your browser and get the latest updates at the Support Checklist. Firefox is the recommended browser for using Blackboard.
- Clear your cache following the instructions on the Support Checklist.
- Make sure your computer is virus and spyware free. Read the Antivirus Recommendations from IT Services.
Your Connection
- Use a university or private network. Public networks, like those at the local coffee shop, may not offer a reliable or secure network connection.
- Use a wired connection. Wireless connections can be dropped at random, causing your session to be interrupted during an exam.
- Avoid losing your network connection during an exam by keeping your screen active and not letting your computer go to sleep, or change your computer’s settings to never go to sleep.
During an Exam or Quiz
- To revisit a previous question, use the question links in the Question Completion Status area. Do not click the Back button in your web browser when taking an exam or quiz. Use your mouse to scroll through questions rather than the arrow keys on your keyboard.
- Do not click Next while the red Saving icon is flashing.
- Do not click Next or Submit twice in a row. Click your choice once and wait for Blackboard to process.
- Save your answers every 10 to 15 minutes if the assessment questions are all on the same page.
- If you get locked out of an exam, contact the instructor for your course as soon as possible. If you cannot reach the instructor, contact the Blackboard Help Desk at 479-575-2905 or bbhelp@uark.edu.
