Many students want to know if it’s okay to use a clicker that a friend no longer needs or if they can buy a used clicker and use it in class. The simple answer is “Absolutely!” There are just a few things you need to know.
Everyone who uses a clicker must have a properly set up Turning Account, register their clicker to that account, and apply a subscription to it. Subscriptions are necessary for the points you earn in class to be properly linked with your name in Blackboard.
Subscriptions are specific to the person and not the clicker, so even if the person who used the clicker before you had a valid subscription you will still need your own. Subscription cards are available for purchase at the University Bookstore or you can purchase them online at the Turning Account site.
